On Obedience

On Obedience . . .

Rapture of the Church – Book

NOTE: In obedience to His commands as recorded for us in the Hebrew Tanakh (the Christian “Old Testament”), we use the Creator’s self-given Hebrew Name, hwhy / YHVH, and the original Hebrew name He gave by the angel Gabriel to be the Messiah’s name, [wvy/ Yeshua. This means “he will save” (Strong’s H3442), exactly as Gabriel directed in Matthew 1:21. We also use God, Lord, El or Elohim (capitalized) as titles for our Father YHVH as appropriate, but never instead of His Name. We pronounce YHVH as Ye-hu’-ah. The Creator’s Name is spelled exactly the same as the name of the tribe of Judah/Yehudah – Yod het vav dalet hey – but with a d/dalet inserted. Remove the d/dalet from Yehudah, and you get Y’huah or Yehuah, which we accept as being the most likely actual sound of the Creator’s Self-given Name. But, this is not a fellowship issue for us! ) Finally, we refer to what Christianity calls the “Old Testament” as the Tanakh, the Hebrew name for it, and to the “New Testament” as the Renewed Covenant Scriptures. Details on request.
Note: We are both ex-Catholics, ex-Protestants, and ex-various kinds of “Messianic Judaism”. We are members of NO denomination, sect, or religious group, but are enthusiastically “contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.” (Jude 3)

Shalom aleichem! (Peace to you!)

19 “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”

22 “On that (Judgment) day many (polus – Strong’s G4183 – most, the majority) will cry out to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’
23 “And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (or, “Torahlessness”- those who disobey any of the commandments of YHVH or of Yeshua)
24 “Everyone then who hears these words (commandments) of mine and does (obeys) them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
26 “And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
27 “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

24 “God is spirit, and they who worship Him MUST worship Him in spirit (sincerely, from one’s heart), and in truth (as He is described in the Bible). (John 4:24)

Understanding the Problem . . .

There is a great divide between “Christianity” as it is generally practiced and as it is described in the Renewed Covenant Scriptures (“New Testament”). A complete list of these discrepancies would be a large book all by itself, so we must limit ourselves to a few glaring examples. These deviant practices have been adopted by all major “Christian” denominations, and rely on a mere consensus of their own shared opinions for their validity. This is charitably called “orthodoxy” (“correct teachings”), and is true of all major religions, but this article is directed primarily at those who look to “Jesus Christ” for their salvation, even as we did for most of our “Christian” lives.

What is “hypocrisy” to our Lord Yeshua and to his Father?
In short, it is behaving in ways that appear to be obedient to the commandments, while actually breaking them. It is DISobedience pretending to be obedience. And all of Matthew 23 is about this. Part of the problem with Christians MISunderstanding what is actually required of them by both Father and Son can be traced to intentional mistranslations of key words in the New Testament. This was done by the translators of virtually ALL Bibles prior to modern times, who were trying to insert their own anti-Christ denominational dogma (including Trinitarianism) into the Bible.
“they” instead of “he” in verse 3 below.

In most “Christian” Bibles today, Matthew 23: 1-3 reads as follows:

1 Then Yeshua spoke to the crowds and to his disciples,
2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;
3 therefore all that they tell you to do, that do and observe,

This leads the reader to believe that Yeshua was somehow commanding his disciples to obey the man-made laws of the Pharisees, when his entire ministry was actually dedicated to the exposure of same as fraudulent and forbidden by God! However, the Shem Tov Hebrew Gospel of Matthew has this as it is below, “therefore all that he (Moses) tells you to do, that do”. In other words, Yeshua is saying that, since the Pharisees claim to “sit in Moses’ Chair” (i.e., speak with Moses’ delegated authority), if the Jews do what Moses says to do, they will do well. This not only fits the context of the passage itself, it is also consistent with everything else that Yeshua taught concerning the teachings of the Pharisees, which the “they” translation does not. Here is what Yeshua and the Father think of hypocrisy:

Matthew 23:1 Then Yeshua spoke to the crowds and to his disciples,
2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;
3 therefore all that he (Moses) tells you to do, that do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them.
4 They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger.
5 But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.
6 They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men.
8 But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers.
9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
10 Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Messiah.
11 But the greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.
13 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!, because you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of sheol as yourselves.
16 Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is obligated.’
17 You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?
18 And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, that is nothing, but whoever swears by the offering on it, he is obligated.’
19 You blind men, which is more important, the offering, or the altar that sanctifies the offering?
20 Therefore, whoever swears by the altar, swears both by the altar and by everything on it.
21 And whoever swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells within it.
22 And whoever swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.
23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.
24 You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!
25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.
26 You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also.
27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.
28 So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness Torahlessness.
29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
30 and say, ‘If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’
31 So you testify against yourselves, that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.
32 Fill up, then, the measure of the guilt of your fathers.
33 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of sheol (the place of the dead)?
34 Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city,
35 so that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. [This is actually proven to be a reference to the father of John the Baptizer (who was not “the son of Berekiah”), whom Herod’s men apparently killed when he would not tell them where his son was hiding, knowing that they sought him to kill him or anyone else who might be the Promised One.]
36 Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.
37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.
38 Behold, your house is being left to you desolate!
39 For I say to you, from now on you will not see me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF YHVH!’”

From this, we should see that our Lord Yeshua and the Father are both opposed to hypocrisy, and that, to them, this means teaching things as though they were doctrines (actual commandments of God as recorded in the written Tanakh/“Old Testament”), but which teachings are actually opposed to those commandments!
So, what does all this have to do with “Christianity”? Everything.
Here is the “Our Father”, a “general-purpose” prayer which was specified by our Lord Yeshua for his followers to use on a regular basis:

9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ [Matthew 6:9-13]

There are undoubtedly hundreds of millions of Christians praying daily to the Father that His will might be done on the earth. But are they really trying to DO His expressed will? Do they know, or even care, what “His will” REALLY IS, as He has expressed it in His written Word? Apparently not.
For example, the great majority of those who call themselves “Christians” feel free to completely ignore the Fourth Commandment, to keep holy the weekly seventh-day Sabbath. We suppose that many of them are actually praying the “Our Father” on Saturday morning, before heading out for some shopping or a round of golf, and seeing nothing wrong with the practice. We surely did not, until we finally realized with horror what we had been likewise thoughtlessly doing all our lives, up to that very moment.
This disconnect (“cognitive dissonance”) between what YHVH Elohim and His Son teach, and what “Christians” actually believe surely are “the commandments of men, taught as doctrine”, equally despised by both Father (Isaiah 29:13) and Son (Mark 7:7). In Matthew Chapter 15, our Lord lays into the Pharisees and scribes (“experts” in Torah) for their own brand of hypocrisy:

Mat 15:1 Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Yeshua from Jerusalem and said,
Mat 15:2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
Mat 15:3 And he answered and said to them, “Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
Mat 15:4 “For God said, ‘HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER’ (Exodus 20:12), and, ‘HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH. (Exodus 21:17)’
Mat 15:5 “But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever I have that would help you is Corban (dedicated to the Temple),”
Mat 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.’ And by this you invalidate the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
Mat 15:7 “You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy (Isaiah 29:13) of you:

In Numbers Chapter 15, YHVH Elohim instructs Moses to command the sons of Israel to affix a particular kind of tassel to the four corners of their garments, to remind themselves of their obligation under that Covenant to obey ALL of the commandments of YHVH Elohim, and not just the Ten Commandments.

Num 15:38 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make for themselves tassels (tzitziot) on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue.
Num 15:39 “It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of YHVH, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot,
Num 15:40 “so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your God.
Num 15:41 “I am YHVH your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am YHVH your God.”

So here is a commandment from God concerning our wearing a tassel on our outer garment to remind us to always keep ALL of His commandments. And, in Malachi 3:6, one of the very last verses in the Hebrew Tanakh (“Old Testament”), YHVH tells us that He does not change. Confirming this, our Lord Yeshua – the Son of God – cautions us, his disciples, to never even imagine that he came to do away with even the tiniest part of the Hebrew Scriptures/“Old Testament”:

“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to   complete (Greek: pleroo – to complete – Strong’s G4137).” Matthew 5:17

“Now if a person sins and does any of the things which YHVH has commanded not to be done,   though he was unaware, still he is guilty and shall bear his punishment.” Leviticus 5:17

Is it not beyond strange that these two verses which link the inviolability of the Commandments of God, one from Yeshua and the other from the Father, both have the same verse number? What are the odds of this happening by chance? Think about it.
These things being so, in the absence of a specific Scripture declaring it revoked, how could any commandment of His no longer be in force? How?
It comes as a shock to most Christians that no part of the Commandments have been done away with Scripturally, but solely via “the commandments of men taught as doctrine”, especially through a “Gospel of grace” supposedly brought by the Apostle Sha’ul (“Paul”), by which he was supposedly authorized by God to actually annul the Commandments of God! Fortunately for Bible Truth-seekers, this “Gospel of Grace” is easily unmasked for the hypocrisy and commandments of men taught as doctrine that it is! As a single example, consider Romans 2:11-13 . . .

11 For there is no partiality with God.
12 For all who have sinned outside the Law will also perish outside the Law, and ALL who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;
13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law who will be justified.      Romans 2:11-13

Does that sound to you as though any “gospel of grace” has replaced the need to OBEY all of the commandments? It surely does not to us.
In the first place, the Apostle Sha’ul NEVER taught anywhere against ANYTHING that his Lord and Savior taught, or that the Father taught in the written Torah of Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings, a.k.a., the Tanakh/“Old Testament”! Like his Lord Yeshua, what Sha’ul was opposed to was the Jews’ “oral law”, what has since been written down as the Talmud, Kabbalah, Zohar, etc., and it was against THIS that ALL of his criticisms were directed. NO exceptions!
In Leviticus 26:14-15, Father YHVH even equates not keeping all of His commandments with breaking His covenant . . .

But if you will not listen to Me and will not do all these commandments, if you spurn My statutes, and if your soul abhors My rules, so that you will not do all My commandments, but break My covenant . . .

The Father here equates not keeping ALL of His commandments with breaking His covenant! Is that serious enough? You had better believe it!
What is worse, He also affirms that, even though someone breaks even one of His commandments ignorantly, such person is still guilty, and will still be responsible before Him!

Now if a person sins and does any of the things which YHVH has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, still he is guilty and shall bear his punishment. (Leviticus 5:17)

Most of Christianity here asserts that it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to keep ALL of the commandments, which is why Yeshua had to die for our sins, and why we can take comfort in Martin Luther’s self-modified version of Romans 3:28, when he inserted the word “alone”…

For we maintain that a man is justified by faith alone apart from works of the Law.

So what do they make of Luke 1:5, which describes a nice Jewish couple described in the “New Testament”, who even lived before Yeshua was born, was crucified, died, was resurrected, and ascended to the right hand of the Father?

5 In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah; and he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
6 They were both righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord. (Luke 1:5-6

The answer is that they obeyed all of the commandments of YHVH, and when they slipped up, they repented of their sin and made atonement according to the requirements of the written Torah, including the prescribed sin offerings through the priests in the Temple. The only change from their day to ours is that we have an immortal “High Priest”, the Lord Yeshua, of who it is said,

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”         1 John 1:9

If there is a better reason for striving to know and keep ALL of the commandments, we don’t know what it might be!
The Father then goes on (Leviticus 26:16 ff) to list all of the curses that will surely befall the disobedient ones. It is not a short list.
King David advises those who would live life to the fullest to keep all the commandments/Torah of YHVH. Here are a few of those verses . . .

Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not take the advice of the ungodly, nor follow after sinners, nor share their scornful attitude towards righteousness.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the Torah of YHVH; and in His Torah does he meditate day and night.

Psa 19:7 The Torah of YHVH is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of YHVH is sure, making wise the simple.
Psa 19:8 The statutes of YHVH are right, rejoicing the heart: the mitzvah/commandment of YHVH is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psa 19:9 The fear of YHVH is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of YHVH are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 19:11 Moreover by them is your servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Psa 19:12 Who can understand his own errors? Cleanse me from my secret faults.
Psa 19:13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Psa 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O YHVH, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psa 37:27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
Psa 37:28 For YHVH loves judgment, and forsakes not His saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Psa 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
Psa 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of judgment.
Psa 37:31 The Torah of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slip.

Psa 40:5 Many, O YHVH my God, are your wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us: they cannot be totalled up in order unto You: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Psa 40:6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; You have opened my ears; burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Psa 40:7 Then said I, Behold, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Psa 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God: yea, Your Torah is within my heart.

Psa 94:12 Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O YHVH, and teach him out of Your Torah;
Psa 94:13 That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be dug for the wicked.
Psa 94:14 For YHVH will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance.
Psa 94:15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

Psa 119:33 HEY (the letter H). Teach me, O YHVH, the way of Your statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
Psa 119:34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your Torah; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Psa 119:35 Make me to go in the path of Your commandments; for therein do I delight.
Psa 119:36 Incline my heart unto Your testimonies, and not to covetousness.
Psa 119:37 Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity; and bring me to life in your way.
Psa 119:38 Establish Your word unto Your servant, who reveres You.
Psa 119:39 Turn away my reproach which I fear: for Your judgments are good.
Psa 119:40 Behold, I have longed after Your precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

Psa 119:41 VAV [the letter V]. Let Your mercies come also unto me, O YHVH, even Your salvation (yeshuah, Strong’s H3444), according to your word.
Psa 119:42 So shall I have the means to answer him that reproaches me: for I trust in Your word.
Psa 119:43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in Your judgments.
Psa 119:44 So shall I keep Your law continually for ever and ever.
Psa 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek Your precepts.
Psa 119:46 I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
Psa 119:47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I have loved.
Psa 119:48 My hands also will I lift up unto Your commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in Your statutes.

Psa 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Your statutes.
Psa 119:72 The Torah of Your mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Psa 119:75 I know, O YHVH, that Your judgments are right, and that it is in Your faithfulness that You have afflicted me.
Psa 119:76 Let, I pray You, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to Your word unto Your servant.
Psa 119:77 Let Your tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for Your Torah is my delight.

Psa 119:153 RESH [the letter R]. Consider my affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget Your Torah.
Psa 119:154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to Your word.
Psa 119:155 Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not Your statutes.

Psa 119:164 Seven times a day do I praise You because of Your righteous judgments.
Psa 119:165 Great peace have they who love Your Torah: and nothing shall offend them.
Psa 119:166 YHVH, I have hoped for Your salvation (Strong’s H3444 – yeshuah!), and done Your commandments.
Psa 119:167 My soul has kept Your testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
Psa 119:168 I have kept Your precepts and Your testimonies: for all my ways are before You.
Psa 119:169 TAV [the letter T]. Let my cry come near before You, O YHVH: give me understanding according to Your word.
Psa 119:170 Let my prayer come before You: deliver me according to Your word.
Psa 119:171 My lips shall utter praise, when You have taught me Your statutes.
Psa 119:172 My tongue shall speak of Your word: for all Your commandments are righteousness.
Psa 119:173 Let Your hand help me; for I have chosen Your precepts.
Psa 119:174 I have longed for Your salvation (Strong’s H3444 – yeshuah!), O YHVH; and Your Torah is my delight.
Psa 119:175 Let my soul live, and it shall praise You; and let Your judgments help me.
Psa 119:176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant; for I do not forget Your commandments.

My son, forget not My Torah; but let your heart keep My commandments:
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you. [Proverbs 3:1-2]

And YHWH’s anger was kindled the same time, and He swore, saying, Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
Except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite (a Gentile tribe included in Judah), and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed YHWH. [Numbers 32:10-12]
And Samuel said, Has YHVH as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of YHVH? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as wickedness and idolatry.  [1 Samuel 15:22-23]

And he answered and said to them (the Pharisees), “Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?” [ Matthew 15:3]

IF you love me, KEEP my commandments. [Words of Yeshua.] [John 14:15]

He that does not love me does not not keep my teachings. And the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me. [Words of Yeshua.][John 14:24]

Hear, O Israel: YHVH our Elohim is one (Hebrew: echad – the number 1 ) YHVH: [Words of Moses – Deuteronomy 6:4]

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, “We ought to obey God rather than men.”  [Acts 5:29]

“Why do you call me Lord, but do not do what I say?” [Luke 6:46]

And by this we know that we truly know him (Yeshua), if we keep his commandments.
He that says, I know him, but does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever keeps his word, in him the love of God is truly perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that claims that he abides in him [Yeshua], himself ought to also walk, even as he [Yeshua] walked.
Brothers and sisters, I am writing no new commandment to you with this, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the same word which you have heard from the beginning. [1 John 2:3-7]

Whosoever commits sin also breaks the law/Torah: for sin is breaking the law/Torah. [1 John 3:4]

And whatsoever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son Yeshua the Messiah, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
And he that keeps His commandments dwells in Yeshua, and Yeshua in him. And by this do we know that he abides in us, by the holy Spirit which he has given us. [1 John 3:22-24]

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
For this is our love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not burdensome. [1 John 5:2-3]

And the dragon was furious with the woman, and went to make war against the remnant of her seed, those who keep the commandments of God and who have the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah. [Revelation 12:17]

So the overwhelming testimony from both the “Old” and the “New Testaments” is that our attainment of “the kingdom of God/heaven” is 100% dependent on our obeying all of the commandments, both from the Father as listed in the Tanakh (“Old Testament”) and from the Son, as listed in the Renewed Covenant Scriptures (“New Testament”). This being the case, how is it that so much of “Christianity” has been deceived into believing otherwise?
We can only conclude that most people have not received that “love of the truth” which the apostle Sha’ul (Paul) says is essential unto salvation:

7 For the mystery of lawlessness (i.e., Torahlessness!) is already at work; only he who now restrains (the archangel Michael) will do so until he is taken out of the way.
8 Then that lawless one (the Antichrist) will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of his mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of his coming;
9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,
10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,
12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but who took pleasure in wickedness. (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12)

In other words, most people prefer to be comfortable in their “religion”, almost no matter what it may teach doctrinally, as long as it requires little more of them than their attendance and financial support. But our Lord Yeshua tells us all that we should …

Mat 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and the great majority (Greek: polus) enter through it.
Mat 7:14 “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are only a tiny number (Greek: oligos) who find it.
Mat 7:15 “Beware of the false teachers, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Mat 7:16 “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
Mat 7:17 “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
Mat 7:18 “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
Mat 7:19 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Mat 7:20 “So then, you will know them by their fruits.
Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who merely calls me ‘Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father Who is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles?’
Mat 7:23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ (Psalm 6:8)

Bear in mind, the “many” above who are complaining about being rejected by Lord Yeshua are NOT some lukewarm pew-sitters! These are Bible-quoting, tongue-talking, demon-exorcizing, miracle-working firebrands of evangelical Christianity! Or so they thought. So, WHAT was missing? Our Lord doesn’t tell us in so many words, but the very next verses offer a key insight.
Yeshua immediately follows his chilling caution with a warning to beware of false teachers. In other words, one may even be working miracles in his name, and still be UNacceptable to Yeshua and his Father, if one has believed false doctrines!
This comes as a shock to most “Christians”, whose favorite “teachers” generally avoid all doctrine as if it were an Ebola plague. And why? Because doctrines divide, and cause people who don’t like the doctrine to take their memberships elsewhere. Preachers know full well that there is little money to be made in telling people what they don’t want to hear, such as straight Bible TRUTHS, like:

  • The Father is the “only true God” (John 17:3), and He is not “3-in-1”, NOR “2-in-1”, NOR a “God family”!
  • The Savior’s name is not “Jesus Christ”;
  • he is not God;
  • the “holy Spirit” is not a “person”;
  • there is only one God, the Father (John 17:3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Timothy 2:5);
  • no one except Yeshua and the firstfruits (24 elders) have been “born again” yet;
  • both Father and Son expect us to obey ALL of the commandments as they apply to each of us;
  • the destiny of the righteous is not heaven;
  • the destiny of the lost is not eternal torment in “hell”; etc., etc., etc.

ALL of the above, and more, can be proven from the Bible, and we do, with a variety of detailed articles on our website http://TorahKingdomLiving.com, many of which deal with salvational issues. These articles allow sincere disciples of our Lord Yeshua to study the arguments and evidence for themselves, and engage in dialogue with us, for our mutual benefit. Like the Bereans, we are intensely concerned with rightly dividing the Word of Truth, and we depend on others in the Body of Messiah to correct us, as well.

But, as our Lord told the Samaritan woman at the well, “God is spirit, and they who worship Him MUST worship Him in spirit (sincerely, from one’s heart), and in truth (as He is described in the Bible). (John 4:24) Like it or not, this is a commandment, straight from our Lord Yeshua, the Son of God!

We pray that you will consider these things carefully, abandon the futile beliefs and practices of “mainstream” Christianity, and “seek YHVH while you may”. (Isaiah 55:6)

For He says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)
