Shaliach Yeshua

Yeshua the Messiah – The Shaliach (Emissary) of God!

by Bob & Suzanne Hamrick

NOTE: In obedience to His commands as recorded for us in the Christian Bible, we use the Creator’s Self-given Hebrew Name, hwhy / YHVH, (which we pronounce Ye-hu’-ah), and the original Hebrew name as given by YHVH through His messenger, the angel Gabriel, (Matthew 1:21) to be the Messiah’s name, [wvy/ Yeshua, (pronounced Ye-shu’-a) which means “he will save” (Strong’s H3442). We also use El or Elohim (capitalized) instead of God as a title for our Father YHVH where appropriate. Finally, we refer to what Christianity calls the “Old Testament” as the Tanakh, the Hebrew name for it, and to the “New Testament” as the Renewed Covenant Scriptures. Details on request.

At the time of Yeshua’s ministry and for several hundred years prior, there were various groups within Judaism which had managed to gain authority among the people via their teachings and political power. In many ways, these groups were competing with one another for support and membership. The Sadducees were in absolute control of the Temple and the rituals performed there, including the feast days. The Scribes were regarded as Torah (Law) experts, as it applied to the everyday life of the people, and the Pharisees were concerned with the overall administration of the affairs of the Kingdom, and with relations with Rome.

With zero basis in Scripture, the Pharisees taught (as do today’s rabbinic Jews) that, at Mount Sinai, God privately gave Moses a separate set of instructions which He allegedly instructed Moses to NOT write down, but to memorize, and pass down from generation to generation verbally. Right. In much the same way that “Allah” allegedly did with Muhammad. Right. And as the angel “Moroni” allegedly did with the Mormon “Prophet” Joseph Smith. Right. Needless to say, there is not a hint of any of this anywhere in the written Hebrew Tanakh/“Old Testament”! In their so-called “oral Law”/“oral Torah”/Talmud, the Pharisees conveniently claimed that God verbally and secretly gave Moses the authority to change the written Torah as he deemed necessary, as future circumstances might require. But the undeniable fact is that God explicitly prohibits ANY such changes to the written Torah of Moses and the Prophets! (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32). It was because of their substitution of these anti-Torah teachings that our Lord Yeshua was criticizing them in the entirety of Chapter 23 of Matthew (cited below).

Yeshua’s scathing attack was in public opposition to the Pharisees’ “oral Torah”, and their teaching that they (the Pharisees) actually had the authority to change the very commandments of God as they are written in the Torah of Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings (what Christians call “the Old Testament”). They also sought to punish anyone – as Yeshua did – who tried to reassert the original authority of the Torah as it was written. But how is this any different from what “Christianity” has done to “the original faith that was once given to the saints” (Jude 3)? It is no different!

Moses’ seat” refers to a throne in every synagogue of Yeshua’s day, used by the Pharisees to symbolize their (supposed) authority to make new laws (Takanot) and to establish new procedures based on precedents set by the rabbis (Ma’asim). Because of a MIStranslation of a single word in the King James and many other Christian Bibles, Yeshua’s actual attitude toward the Pharisees, etc., was effectively presented to “Christianity” as being the opposite of what it actually was! The result is a totally illogical teaching, in which Yeshua supposedly first orders his audience to obey the Pharisees solely because they claim to have Moses’ authority, and then details why they should NOT obey them. The MIStranslated word is the “they” which is lined through below. It should read “whatever HE (Moses) tells you”, which is an instruction to obey the written Torah and to ignore the Pharisees whenever their teachings contradicted the written Torah. It is translated exactly that way in the Shem Tov Hebrew Gospel of Matthew.

1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,

2 “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat,

3 so practice and observe whatever they he (Moses) tells you, but do not do as they do. For they preach, but do not practice.

4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.

5 They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes/tzitzit long,

6 and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues

7 and greetings in the marketplaces and being called Rabbi by others.

8 But you are not to be called Rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.

9 And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

10 Neither be called teachers, for you have one teacher, the Messiah.

11 The greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

13 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.

14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive the greater condemnation.

15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a child of sheol/the grave as yourselves.

16 Woe to you blind guides, who say, “If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.”

17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?

18 And you say, “If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.”

19 You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?

20 So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

21 And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by Him who dwells in it.

22 And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.

23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Torah: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!

25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness.

28 So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous,

30 saying, “If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.”

31 Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.

32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.

33 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to sheol?

34 Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town,

35 so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of innocent Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah (the father of John the Baptist), whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.

36 Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this age.

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you would not!

38 See, your house is left to you desolate.

39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of YHVH.” (“Baruch haba ha Shem YHVH”) (Matthew 23:1-39)

This “oral Torah” of the Pharisees was nevertheless eventually written down, and exists today as the Talmud, the Mishneh Torah, Zohar, Kabballah, etc. Here is what Herman Wouk, a well-known Jewish author, has to say about the Talmud:

The Talmud: Heart’s Blood of the Jewish Faith, was the heading of the November 17, 1959, instalment of “This Is My God”, a bestseller book by author Herman Wouk (The Caine Mutiny, Marjorie Morningstar, The Winds of War, et al.) which ran serially in the New York Herald-Tribune. To quote:

The Talmud is to this day the circulating heart’s blood of the Jewish religion. Whatever laws, customs or ceremonies we observe – whether we are orthodox, Conservative, Reform or merely spasmodic sentimentalists – we follow the Talmud. It is our common law.”

This then is the cultural and religious heritage into which Yeshua of Nazareth was born, lived and died, and which persists today as Rabbinic Judaism. It was greatly expanded and developed while the Jews were in captivity in Babylon, and assimilated many occult practices from their false pagan religions, the most visible of which are the names they have given to the months of their “civil” calendar. One of these is “Tammuz”, son of Queen Semiramis, who died at the age of 40 in a hunting accident, gored to death by a wild hog. It was the Babylonians who actually invented “Lent”, a period of 40 days of fasting and “weeping for Tammuz”, followed by a feast of pork. This is the actual source of “Christianity’s” tradition of having pork (a meat forbidden by YHVH as unclean – Leviticus 11:7) on “Easter” Sunday! After the destruction of the Tower of Babel, the people dispersed around the world with their new languages, and Semiramis was renamed Ishtar, Ostera, Eostre, etc., “Easter” in English! The practice of “weeping for Tammuz” is expressly condemned by YHVH Elohim as an abomination to Him in the Bible! (Ezekiel 8:14, but see the entire chapter.)

Next, we need to understand the differences among the terms, “son of God”, “sons of God” and “the Son of God”. The term “son of God” applies to any individual (human or angelic) who was the result of a unique act of creation by the Father. So all of the angels, both good and bad, are “sons of God”, since they were all created at the same time. Adam was also a “son of God” , since he was formed uniquely from the dust of the earth, and as was Eve, since she was uniquely formed from Adam. But it is important to understand that the similar Hebrew phrase “the Son of God” was actually a specific Hebrew title reserved exclusively for the Messiah, the Promised One. It appears forty-three times in the 1769 King James Version Renewed Covenant Scriptures, and is mistakenly applied once to Adam in Luke 3:38 (via an italicized insertion by the KJV translators), and to Yeshua in all of the rest of those. Examples:

But these are written, that you might believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name. – John 20:31

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If you are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. – Matthew 4:3

And the high priest answered and said unto him, “I adjure thee by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God.” – Matthew 26:63

Next, we need to understand just what “the Son of God” was expected to be able to do, according to prophecies in the Tanakh and the Hebraic culture in which he arose. According to our western (Gentile) understanding, Yeshua (“Jesus”) was able to do things that only God should be able to do, such as work miracles and forgive sins. Because most of “Christianity” is trinitarian (or “binitarian”), most Christians have been taught that such supernaturally powerful acts PROVE that Yeshua the Messiah is God incarnate. They also believe, because they have been taught it, that “Jesus” MUST be God because ONLY the “death” of God could atone for the sins of all mankind. Unfortunately for this view, it has ZERO doctrinal basis in Scripture, and is an entirely pagan concept! It also ignores the simple fact that God is eternal and cannot die. These erroneous beliefs stem from two sources:

1.) false teachings inherited from Constantinian (pagan Roman) Christianity; and

2.) a willingness of most Christians (ourselves included, until January of 2009) to accept such teachings uncritically.

Moreover, in both the Tanakh and the Renewed Covenant Scriptures (“New Testament”) it is the Father, YHVH Elohim alone, Who determines the acceptability of ANY sacrifice!

A prime example of false teachings arising from a basic misunderstanding of what was actually happening is found in the Gospel of John, Chapter 10. This exchange between Yeshua and the scribes and Pharisees is generally taken by trinitarians as proof that Yeshua really did claim to BE God, and the Pharisees sought to kill him for it. In fact, nothing of the sort happened, as a cursory examination of the context of the whole passage quickly reveals:

22 And it was at Jerusalem the Feast of the Dedication (Hanukkah), and it was winter.

23 And Yeshua walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.

24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long will you make us to doubt? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.

25 Yeshua answered them, I told you, and you believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

26 But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

30 I and my Father are one (echad – Hebrew for the number one).

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 Yeshua answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me?

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make yourself out to be God.

34 Yeshua answered them, Is it not written in your Torah, “I said, ‘You are gods (elohim)?’” (Psalm 82:6)

35 If He called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say you of him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme’ because I said, I am the Son of God?

37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38 But if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

In verse 31, “the Jews” (a reference to the various religious groups within Judaism – Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Scribes – who were on the receiving end of Yeshua’s criticism for their hypocrisy and anti-Torah teachings) were looking for an excuse to kill him, and they seized on this statement, that he and the Father were one (echad, the Hebrew word for the numeral “one”) as though he were claiming to BE God. If true, this would indeed have been blasphemy and sacrilege, and a violation of Torah worthy of stoning, but not until a public trial by the Sanhedrin, complete with witnesses, testimonies, etc. But even under rabbinic halachah law, NO simple verbal statement was grounds for anyone, especially a well-known rabbi, to be summarily executed on the spot by anyone. Yeshua knew this and they surely did as well. This was merely another impromptu attempt at intimidation by “the Jews”.

Since Yeshua is NOT God, never was God, and never claimed to BE God, and stated that ONLY the Father was truly God (John 17:3), it should be obvious from the context that he was claiming to be of one purpose and spirit with the Father and in perfect accord with His plan (Greek logos, the “word” of John 1:1-4), exactly as befits a shaliach, or one sent by a superior. In fact, Yeshua refers to himself as being sent by his Father YHVH Elohim at least 39 times in the Renewed Covenant Scriptures (Matthew 10:40; Mark 9:37; Luke 4:18, 9:8 & 10:16; John 1:33, 4:34; 5:25, 30, 36, 37; 6:38, 39, 40, 44, 57; 7:16, 28, 29, 33; 8:16, 18, 26, 29, 42; 9:4; 11:42; 12:44, 45, 49; 13:20; 14:24; 15:21; 16:5; 17:18, 21, 23, 25; & 20:21). He even healed the man born blind, in fulfilment of a messianic prophecy in Isaiah 35:5, and where did he do it?

And (Yeshua) said unto him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam,” (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.” (John 9:7)

And Strong’s G4611, “Siloam”, identifies Siloam as the Greek transliteration of shaliach/shaloach, (Strong’s H7975), “one sent”, which is exactly what Yeshua was claiming to be, THE Sent One, HaMashiach, The Messiah.

But Yeshua does not stoop to quibbling with his enemies over their interpretation of his choice of words. Rather, he refers them back to the Tanakh, Psalm 82, verse 6, written by King David, wherein YHVH Elohim is addressing a group of rebellious angels as “gods”/elohim. Yeshua points out that, if the Father addressed fallen angels as “gods” (and He did) then Yeshua, as the actual “THE Son of God”, the prophesied Messiah, would vastly outrank any fallen angel, including Satan himself, and would surely also be entitled to be called by that term. It should be clear from this that the Hebrew word elohim has a much wider range of meanings than do either the Greek equivalent theos, or the English word “god”.

In fact, there are many instances of non-deity persons, both human and angelic, being called “god” or “gods” (elohim may be either singular or plural, depending on the context) in the Hebrew Tanakh (“Old Testament”). Yeshua was saying, in effect, “Even if I did what you say, you still have no grounds to accuse me, IF I am who I claim to be.” Once again, he beat them at their own game, and they knew it, which frustrated them and made them seek to kill him all the more.

And the apostle Sha’ul (“Paul”) addresses this precise point in 1 Corinthians 8:5-6:

5 For although there may be so-called “gods” in heaven or on earth – as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords” –

6 yet for us (disciples/talmidim) there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through (Greek dia, “through”, not “by”) whom are all things and through whom we exist. (ESV)

This is yet another example of western “Christianity’s” furtherance of its concealed pagan/ Constantinian origins and agendas, in its readiness to formulate anti-Torah doctrines based on an incomplete understanding of the Hebraic culture within which all of these events and teachings occurred. Because most of the “New Testament” Bible was written by Hebrews and about Hebrews, in an Hebraic culture dating back thousands of years, “Christianity’s” failure to interpret it from its actual, original, Hebraic cultural context absolutely guarantees frequent, and often crucial, misunderstandings of the whole of Scripture. And so today. The only reason that such errors persist is that they reinforce the Trinitarian teachings of so-called “Christianity”, and most “Christians” have little interest in examining the actual foundations of the faith upon which they are relying for their salvation, even as we did, until 2009. (See our article “What Happened to Us”.)

Please understand that we are not speaking here of a mere turn of a phrase, or nuances of translation, but of a fundamental lack of understanding of foundational concepts which were described in detail in the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible, what Christians disparagingly call “the Old Testament”). This particular concept, that of the shaliach (Strong’s H7975 – one sent) or fully-empowered agent of another person (what we would call a proxy in Common Law), was absolutely essential to the entire salvation plan of YHVH for mankind. Without it, that salvation would have been impossible, and the entirety of creation pointless.

The prototypical Biblical example of the duties and powers of a shaliach in Hebrew culture is found in the story of Eliezer, servant of Abraham, who was sent to find a wife for Abraham’s son, Isaac (Genesis 24). Eliezer had the same authority to bind his principals, Abraham and Isaac, to the terms of a marriage covenant as if he were Abraham and Isaac themselves. And so it is with Yeshua and his “principal”, YHVH Elohim, who is also his literal Father. This example is given to us for our understanding, not just to have another cute story to memorize in Sunday school.

In this case, the same faulty thinking by those who assume Messiah is God because he could forgive sins applies to issues such as how Messiah was able to heal, resurrect, or perform miracles in general. Yeshua was just that – an EMISSARY of Almighty God, the only begotten (born of a human mother) SON of God, but he was NOT God. In fact, he referred to himself as being sent from or by God or by his Father forty times in the Gospel of John alone. If this is not sufficient to establish the principle, what would be?

Note: As previously mentioned, the generic term “son of God” throughout the Bible refers to any class of creatures who were unique creations of their kind. All of the angels, both good and bad, are “sons of God” because they were apparently all created at the same time. Adam was a unique act of creation, being made by God from the dust of the ground, so he was a unique “son of God”, as was Eve, since she was uniquely formed from Adam. The children of Israel were all “sons of God” because they all entered into covenant with El Elyon (God Almighty) at Sinai, at the same time. Yeshua was the “only begotten” son of God because he was the only human being who was ever engendered by the power of YHVH in the womb of a human female. This was essential so that Yeshua could be free from “the sin of the fathers” (Exodus 34:7), the fallen nature of which is inherited by every human being with a human father. But Yeshua’s Father is YHVH Elohim, literally Holy God, as the Bible states (Luke 1:35), and according to that verse, it is solely because of his miraculous engenderment in the womb of his human mother (begotten) by the holy Spirit of YHVH, that he is called “the only begotten Son of God”, NOT because of some imagined pre-existence as one-third (or one-half) of an impossibly pagan “godhead”. Luke 1:35 also establishes that the holy Spirit is the manifestation of the power of the Father in space and time, and not a separate “person” of such an imagined “trinity”. Luke 1:35 plainly states that Mary was impregnated by the holy Spirit – there defined as “the power of the Most High” (Hebrew El Elyon) – yet in Scripture “the Holy Spirit” is never claimed to be Yeshua’s father, but only YHVH Elohim.
Each person who repents of his sins and accepts Yeshua as Lord receives the power to become a “son of God” (John 1:12) when he or she hears the Gospel of the Kingdom, understands it, and accepts Yeshua as their Lord and Savior. They surely do not receive sonship at that moment (i.e., neither “Eternal security”, nor “Once saved, always saved”). Salvation is a process which is only completed at either the (first) resurrection or at the rapture of the righteous at the Lord Yeshua’s return at the end of the Tribulation, or (for those righteous born during the Millennial Reign) at the White Throne Judgment at the end of the Millennial Reign. Just as in the natural world, one is not “born” spiritually in the very moment of conception, when one first hears the Gospel of the Kingdom, understands it, and accepts it. (Matthew 13) As in the natural world, there is a growth process between the point of spiritual conception and the point of spiritual birth, which will not happen until the individual is either resurrected or raptured at the Lord Yeshua’s return. As our Lord points out in the parable of the sower (Matthew 13), many things can happen in the life of the individual between these two events which can “abort” the process, and result in the loss of salvation for such individuals.

It should be obvious that the emissary or agent of a person cannot be the same person as the one who sent him.  The emissary and his principal are necessarily separate and distinct entities, just as a father and a son cannot be the same person (which has nonetheless not kept some from believing that Yeshua and the Father are the same person!). The very meaning of “emissary” requires this to be the case! When Messiah himself says that he was “sent by God”, and also that there is ONLY ONE Who is TRULY GOD (John 17:3), it should prove that he is NOT that God!  So, Yeshua, as the agent of God, cannot possibly be the One from whom he was sent as an agent. To believe otherwise is to abandon our God-given logic and the rules of language, and to sink into the Satanic quicksand of “mystery”.

Indeed, recognition of the true God and true Messiah are concealed from many sincere and no doubt well-intentioned “Messianic Christians” as well as from all doctrinaire Catholics, Protestants, and the outright cultic versions of the original faith of Yeshua of Nazareth and all of his disciples. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

The Hebrew word for such a fully-empowered “emissary” is shaliach (sha-LEE-ock – Strong’s H7975).  The following discussion of the shaliach concept is from a Chabad-Lubavitcher web site. Obviously, since this is a thoroughly rabbinic Jewish organization, the quote below represents the standard rabbinic Jewish view, not simply the Chabad view.  This quote should be quite useful to help us understand the mission of Yeshua the Messiah, and to consider Yeshua as the Shaliach of YHVH and of our responsibility to be his shaliachim (emissaries).

From the Chabad Lubavitcher website (our commentary inserted in brackets [ ] below)…

Shaliach — the word means “agent” and “emissary” — is a halachic (rabbinic-legal) term for a person empowered by someone else to act in his stead.  [Yeshua was empowered by YHVH to act in His stead.]  The shaliach first appears in the Torah in the person of Eliezer, whom Abraham commissioned to find a wife for his son, Isaac. Rebecca was selected and betrothed as a wife for Isaac by Eliezer — she was legally Isaac’s wife without her actual husband having ever set eyes on her or having exchanged a single word with her. In the words of the Talmud, “A person’s shaliach is as he himself.”

[Consider this in light of Yeshua saying, “I and the Father are one.”  As his Father YHVH’s shaliach, Yeshua was acting on behalf of Him; thus, YHVH’s emissary or representative was as YHVH, since he was fully empowered to legally act as YHVH’s chosen agent.  However, just as Eliezer was NOT Abraham, Yeshua is NOT YHVH/God. This is what Yeshua meant when he said such things as:

John 8:28, 42, 50 (NASB)

28 Yeshua therefore said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught me.”

42 Yeshua said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me; for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on my own initiative, but He sent me.”

50 “But I do not seek my own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. … ]

There exists an halachic model (the eved or “slave”) for one who has abnegated his will, personality and very identity to that of his “master.”

[Yeshua was also YHVH’s “slave” in the sense that he submitted his will to YHVH’s, just as we should; however, he did not submit his identity or personality.  Recall prior to Yeshua’s death him praying to his God and Father, “not my will, but thine, be done.” (Matt. 26:39, Mark 14:36, Luke 22:42).  Yeshua is confirming that their wills are separate and distinct. We should submit our will to the same God that Yeshua did, which is NOT the God promoted by Trinitarians and all others that promote a pagan 3-in-1 God/man messiah.]

There also exists the model of the “employee” (sachir), who assumes the obligation to perform a certain task for someone else, but whose personality and identity remain separate and distinct from the personality and identity of his “employer.” The shaliach is unique in that he or she retains a great degree of autonomy in carrying out his mission, yet at the same time becomes a virtual extension of the person who commissioned him (the meshaleiach).

[Likewise, as YHVH’s unique emissary (shaliach), Yeshua became a virtual extension of YHVH.  Again, this is what he meant when he said that he was “one” with his Father.  It is also what he prayed for when he prayed that his followers would likewise be “one” with the Father just as he is:

John 17:11; 21; 22 (KJV)

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. …

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

But how is such a union between us and the Father even possible, if Yeshua is God, part of an incomprehensible 3-in-1 “trinity”? It’s not. What IS possible is for us to seek to be echad/“one” with the Father exactly as Yeshua is, in perfect alignment with the Father’s will, plan (logos – Strong’s G3056) and purposes!]

The shaliach does not abnegate his intellect, will, desires, feelings, talents and personal “style” to that of the one whom he represents; rather, he enlists them in the fulfillment of his mission. The result of this in not a lesser bond between the two, but the contrary: the meshaleiach is acting through the whole of the shaliach — not only through the shaliach’s physical actions, but also through the shaliach’s personality, which has become an extension of the meshaleiach’s personality.

[YHVH Elohim, as the “Meshaleiach”, was “acting through the whole” of Yeshua – He was utilizing the unique set of gifts and personality Yeshua the Messiah possessed.]

The Rebbe [They are here referring to M. Schneurssohn, a Rabbi they greatly admire.] took the halachic concept of shelichut (agency, or proxy) and transformed it into a calling and a way of life. In the five decades of his leadership, he recruited, trained, motivated and commissioned thousands of men, women and children to act as his personal representatives and emissaries in hundreds of communities throughout the world. [Is this not what Yeshua – our “Rebbe” – did, and more?]

Intrinsic to the role of shaliach is the challenge to bring one’s own initiative, resourcefulness and creativity to the task. The Rebbe did not allow his sheluchim the luxury of mindless obedience to his dictates. Instead, he insisted that Chabad’s programs and activities arise from the particular strengths and inclinations of the shaliach and the particular needs and circumstances of his locality.

But neither did the Rebbe send his emissaries to tackle their mission on their own. He empowered them to be “as he himself”, so that a shaliach’s every deed is imbued with the awareness that he is acting as an extension of the Rebbe’s very person; that his thoughts and feelings, choices and deliberations, efforts and satisfactions, while the product of his own prowess and personality, are now serving as extensions of the Rebbe’s prowess and personality.

[Again, is this not what Yeshua the Messiah – our Rebbe – did?  He did not send us out alone on our mission.  We, as the emissaries of the Father’s unique emissary, are not alone and are empowered just as described, only we are so empowered via the holy Spirit of YHVH, as the Messiah-rejecting Jews are likely not.]

Never before in the history of our people has one man built a following so large in number, so diverse, so highly motivated, and so successful in the furtherance of his vision. [Well, these Orthodox Jews obviously ignore Yeshua of Nazareth.  The numbers of his followers dwarf those of ALL other men, despite the fact many who think they are following him are not.] At the core of this phenomenal success is a seemingly benign legal dynamic, first employed more than 3,600 years ago when Abraham sent Eliezer to find a wife for his son.”

Additional information useful for understanding the shaliach concept is found in The Jewish Encyclopedia, page 232.  It describes the “Jewish Law of Agency”. The Law of Agency deals with the status of a person (known as the agent) acting by direction of another (the principal), and thereby legally binding the principal in his connection with a third person. The person who binds a principal in this manner is his agent, known in Jewish law as sheluach or sheliach (one that is sent): the relation of the former to the latter is known as agency (shelichut). The general principle is enunciated thus: A man’s agent is like himself .

[Yeshua, as the agent of YHVH, is FULLY empowered to LEGALLY and FULLY represent YHVH.  As the agent (shaliach) of God, Yeshua is “like”, or the “likeness” and “image” of God; however, just as the agent (the one sent) is not the principal (who sent him), Yeshua is NOT God!]

1. Under the Jewish law an agent may be appointed without the formality of writing, that is, by spoken words; and witnesses are not needed to give effect to these words, except to prove, in case of dispute, that authority had been given, and the extent of such authority. The standard authorities draw this conclusion from the remark in Kiddushin, 65b, that witnesses are needed only to meet denials. …
An agent may appoint a subagent

[The apostles, and WE who continue to spread the “good news” of Yeshua’s rule and the Kingdom of God, are subagents/shaliachim sent by Yeshua!] …

It should also be noted that a shaliach has his emissary status revoked either by failure (such as Israel did) or death.

[Yeshua did NOT fail and HE LIVES!!  Therefore, he is STILL the Shaliach of YHVH.]

——————– End of quotes from Chabad Lubavitcher website ——————–

So, there you have it. Yeshua is the Shaliach (emissary) of God, but he is NOT God.  Since he is the FULLY empowered agent of God, he has the power to forgive sins, heal, resurrect, etc.  But his power does NOT prove him to be God.  All it proves is that he is FULLY empowered by YHVH Elohim to be His Shaliach and to so act on His behalf!

Each true follower of Messiah is to go forth as a shaliach of THE shaliach.  For further evidence proving Yeshua to the Shaliach (one sent) of God, note these words of Yeshua (John 5:19-27):

19 Then answered Yeshua and said unto them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever He does, these also does the Son likewise.

20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that He Himself does: and He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21 For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; even so the Son quickens whom he will.

22 For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son:

23 That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father who has sent him.

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that hears my word, and believes on Him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

26 For as the Father has life in himself; so has He given to the Son to have life in himself;

27 And has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

After reading these words of Yeshua it should be obvious that Yeshua is the Shaliach, the sent one, the uniquely qualified agent of the Almighty God.  Christianity mistakenly presents John’s gospel as their primary alleged “proof” of Messiah’s deity.  However, they misrepresent the truth, because what John actually presents is the evidence proving Yeshua to be the shaliach of God, but NOT as God!  The primary purpose of John’s gospel was NOT to prove that Yeshua is God, but that he is the “sent one,” the Shaliach (agent) of God who was prophesied.  Indeed!  John implicitly states that as being his primary purpose for writing his gospel when he quotes Yeshua summarizing his purpose and the way to eternal life (John 17:3):

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know You (Father) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

The following verses absolutely contradict the idea that Yeshua, or anyone but the Father, is God:

Words of YHVH Elohim (“the LORD God”):

10 You are my witnesses, says YHVH, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. (Isaiah 43: 10)

24 Thus says YHVH, your Redeemer, and He that formed you from the womb, I am YHVH Who makes all things; Who stretches forth the heavens alone; Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself; (Isaiah 44:24)

5 I am YHVH, and there is none else, there is no God except me: (Isaiah 45:5)

18 For thus says YHVH Who created the heavens; God himself Who formed the earth and made it; He has established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am YHVH; and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:18)

11 I am YHVH: that is My Name: and My glory will I not yield to another, neither My praise to graven images. (Isaiah 42:8)

Words of Yeshua:

And this is life eternal, that they might know You (Father YHVH) the ONLY TRUE GOD, and Yeshua HaMashiach, whom You have sent. ( Yochanan/“John” 17:3)

And Yeshua answered him, “The first (most important) of all the commandments is, ‘Hear, O Israel; YHVH is God, YHVH is one:’ (Quoting the “Shema” from Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Shema Yisroel, YHVH Elohim, YHVH echad”) (Marcus/“Mark” 12:29)

And the scribe said unto him, “Well, Rabbi, you have said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but He:” (Marcus/“Mark” 12:32)

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your own Name those whom You have given me, that they may be one, as we are. (Yochanan/“John” 17:11) [But if the Father and Yeshua are “really” parts of a divine 3-in-1 “trinity”, how could we 100% humans possibly be “one”/echad AS Yeshua and the Father are?]

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;” (Revelation 3:14) [Here the risen and glorified Yeshua refers to himself as: (a) having a beginning; and (b) being created by God, neither of which is possible if he were truly eternal God (deity). Will YOU call him a liar?]

Words of the the Apostle Sha’ul (“Paul”):

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Yeshua Messiah. (1 Corinthians 8:6)

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Ephesians 4:6)

For there is one God, AND one mediator between God and men, the man Yeshua Messiah; (1 Timothy 2:5)

Contrast these explicit verses (and more which could be cited) which absolutely establish the exclusively unitary monotheism of the Father, YHVH Elohim, with the mere inferences drawn from twisted interpretations that are used to support the 100% pagan concept of the God/man, “Jesus Christ”.

Belief in Yeshua as God diminishes both the Father and the Son: the Father, by asserting that He alone is NOT God, contrary to all of Scripture; and the Son, by laying his 100% human accomplishments at the feet of a non-existent “deity” which could theoretically have done anything. And it is bearing witness against the holy Spirit of YHVH, the inspiration for the Bible, which is blasphemy and the unforgivable sin! (Matthew 12:31:32) This may well be the legal basis for the “strong delusion” which the apostle Sha’ul (“Paul”) states that the Father will send upon those who “did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:12) In other words, all who CHOOSE to go on believing that “Jesus Christ” IS GOD, after they have received such information as we have presented here, are opening themselves up to being deluded by God on that very point! If this is the case, what chance do such people have of ever realizing that their very salvation is in deadly peril because of their false beliefs? Very little, from what we see in 2 Peter 2:20-22:

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Yeshua Messiah, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

And last, but far from least, continuing to regard Yeshua (“Jesus Christ”) AS God when he is NOT God, is idolatry, a gross violation of the First Commandment (Exodus 20:3), and sin (1 John 3:4). And the result of unrepented sin is surely annihilation in the Lake of Fire (James 1:15; Revelation 21:8).

Please carefully consider Yeshua as the Shaliach of YHVH.  Understanding the Hebraic concept of shaliach is THE key to understanding both the Father’s and Yeshua’s actual identities, apart from the Constantinian deceptions which have been part of “Christianity” since 325AD!

May our Father YHVH open minds and spiritually blind eyes to the truth so that others will finally become our fellow emissaries with Messiah Yeshua, The Shaliach of our Father YHVH Elohim.

Shalom aleichem! Peace be unto you!
